Where Bremner meets Spadina, thousands of people live stacked in the CityPlace towers, and this clinic was built to be their ground-floor dentist. It has held the corner for over fourteen years — founded by Dr. Afif and Dr. Poulos, now run in partnership with Dr. Patricia Liu. The house rule is stated plainly: nothing is recommended that the patient does not need. Every new patient begins with a full hour of examination before a plan is discussed.

Treatments

General and family care: examinations, hygiene, fillings, root canal therapy, crowns and bridges, children’s dentistry. Gum treatment and periodontal surgery, oral surgery and extractions, implants. Cosmetic work — veneers, bonding, whitening. Invisalign aligners, the treatment patients write about most often. Oral cancer screening is built into the check-up; TMJ pain and clenching are treated too. Urgent problems are fitted into the same day.

Specialists and team

A periodontal specialist, Dr. Hendrik Doering, holds days at the clinic, so gum disease and implant groundwork stay in-house rather than going out by referral. The general roster trained on three continents: Dr. Patricia Liu, partner in the practice; Dr. Shadab Khorasanizadeh, who carries much of the Invisalign and restorative work; Dr. Neshat Deljoomanesh, certified in moderate conscious sedation; alongside colleagues trained in Melbourne, Sydney and New York. Hygienists Masooda and Kaiza are named by long-standing patients again and again.

The chair itself

Every treatment room has a massage chair and a large screen, and the waiting area runs to hot drinks — small things that matter across a long back-to-back block.

Will my first visit include a cleaning? Only when booked as a back-to-back block: the new-patient examination alone takes a full hour.

Is there a gum specialist on site? Yes, a periodontal specialist attends on set days, so periodontal treatment needs no outside referral.

What about surgery beyond general dentistry? An oral surgeon at one of the group’s other Toronto locations takes those cases.
